Hi, I just discovered that my great-uncle William Stewart, born about 1875, son of James Stewart and Mary Ann Smith of Keith, was still alive in 1918. His address was given as Fox Stock Farm, RK 2. Does anyone know where this would be - maybe in another country. I am wondering if he had any descendants.

I am trying to locate any relatives who may have further information or photographs of the family of my Grandfather George Stewart. He was born at 40 Commerce Street, Lossiemouth on 25 April 1887. I believe his brothers and sisters were William, John, Annie, Robert, James, Isabella. Their parents were William Stewart born 1856 ElginMoray and Isabella Smith born 1855 Mid Street, Fraserburgh. My Grandfather George emigrated to Australia in 1913 and married my Grandmother in 1920. I believe he, and one of my Grandmothers brothers, George Macdonald, visited Lossiemouth between 1916 and 1918 during leave from the Army in WW1. On some postcards, mention is made of returning home to 36 Commerce Street and in other papers, 39 Commerce Street is mentioned. Possibly other Stewart relatives also lived in these houses. I believe George was a carpenter and worked on some buildings in Lossiemouth, however I believe his father or grandfather may have been fishermen, as was Isabella Smiths family. Her father was William Smith and mother also Isabella Smith. My Grandfather married my Grandmother in Australia on his return from WW1 service. Any help would be greatly appreciated as George Stewart died when my Father was 4, and my brothers and I would love to know more about our Scottish background. Thank you Anne Stewart.

I am trying to find any information I can about an ancestor of mine and am hoping you may be able to help me.The person in question is one Jessie Ann Cruickshank Hendry. It has been quite confusing trying to piece together her story. Her birth certificate 27 March 1885 lists her as Jessie Ann Hendry Harrold illegitimate born 210 High Street Elgin.Only the mother is listed one Margaret Harrold domestic servant.Marriage certificate 20 January 1905 Elgin to Frederick James Cameron and death certificate, list her parents as Alexander Hendry railway porter and Maggie Hendry ms Harrold. However, Alexander and Maggie were never actually married.Maggie Harrold was about 25 when Jessie was born and may have worked in a Hendry household.A search of the Moray Council website brings up a Jessie Cruickshank Cameron ms Royan spouse Frederick James Cameron.Frederick James Camerons death certificate lists him as married to Jessie Royan. Here, her parents are listed as James, not Alexander Hendry, engine driver and Mrs John Asher.A further search shows that John Asher married one Margaret Harrold in 1892 so that explains that confusion.Jessies sons marriage certificate of 1940 lists her as Jessie Cruickshank Cameron ms Royan.Jessies sons birth certificate lists her as Jessie Ann Hendry Cameron ms Royan.I have found an 1891 Census record of one Jessie A Royan aged 6 and listed as the adopted daughter of James and Elizabeth Royan of 28 So Guildry St Elgin. They also lived at Rose Place Elgin which coincidentally is where Jessie is listed as living at the time of her marriage. So maybe Jessie was farmed out to be raised by the Royans who do not appear to have had any children of their own.Any help you may be able to offer in tracking the elusive James or Alexander Hendry, goodness knows where the Cruickshank comes into it, and their connection to the Royans would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
